Green idea traveling to downtown New York

Would it be nice if this is my garage parked my boat instead of car?

Sometimes when I stuck in traffic in FDR and i look at the Hudson River, which just right hand side of the FDR all along, I wonder should I really want to get rid of my car and trade in for a boat, even a small one. There will be no traffic concern in the river, not even mention the bad road condition with all the infinitely number of potholes.

So every weekend I can take the boat and cruise the Hudson River to Chinatown, and laugh all the way to the people stuck on the FDR....

What do you see in this photo?

It is kind of fun if you have a photograph which it can turn to something else? Well, i am not talking about ghost photo.

See this photo for example. It is an abandon building (warehouse?) few miles away. It has been there for at least 5 years and I still have no idea what it supposed to be. After I review the photo in my computer, it turn out it looks like a face of some creatures to me more than a building. It has features of eyes, nose and even a mouth. Do you agree?

Behind the scene of "Quack. Quack. Quack."

Listen People! When are you going to learn not throwing away your trash besides in the garbage can? How do you feel if I dump a big bag of garbage "in" your house? What turns around what comes around!

Venice Canals, Los Angeles

A few snap shots from the Venice Canal in California.

It is at the area of the S. Venice Blvd and Pacific Ave. I never knew of this place until it popped up on the GPS when I was in the neighborhood.

For sure this place is a heaven. Can't find anything similar in NY...

The area provided about a hour of pleasant walking in a lovely setting. The setting is pastoral, with lovely and original cottages, landscaped walkways, ducks and row boats. There are 14 small bridges that span the canal area, that give you the flexibility to hike as much or as little as you like.

According to the some websites I goggled afterward, the area was established around 1900 with a 20 miles network of canals and waterfront house. Today, there is only a few miles of waterway left.

Last train to Coney Island

Tried to catch the last train to the Coney Island before they close for the 2009 Season.

Well, honestly, i just missed those chili beacon hot dogs and lemonade from the original Nathan stand.

On the flip side, it is expensive. $3.65 per hotdog. I can buy a pack of 50 from Sam's Club for 11 dollars plus 8 buns for another $2.50. Well, it's like you can't miss the Walt Disney World if you are in Orlando, right?

Smokes from Angeles National Forest

Here are a few photos of the HUGE smokes coming from the wild fire from Angeles National Forest which currently happen for a week so far and going.

Depend the wind blowing direction, you can smell the burning through out the day and night. Once I was sleeping on the lawn and I was woke up by the smell at 4am in the morning.

The pictures was taken at a park where my grandpa always comes here to feed the ducks. Also you can see people still playing golf in the photos.

Lunch in Valley Blvd, LA

Crispy Chicken Wing

Fish Ball Lo Mein Cantonese Style

Sampan Congee with Fish and Shrimp

Wonton Noodle

We had our first official lunch in Valley Blvd, LA on last Friday the 28th. The place is famous for it's noodle.

We ordered a lot of food, including Wonton Noodle, Fish Noodle, Sampan Congee, and Crispy Chicken. Honestly, you can't find that in NY. Food is good size and taste is excellent. I have to mention the chicken.

Gosh...HOW CAN THEY MAKE THE CHICKEN WING BETTER THAN KFC???

The wonton is made with 20-24 size shrimp...and it is TWO SHRIMPS in ONE WONTON!!!!

The Sampan Congee has FISH and SHIRMP in there.

NOT EVEN MENTION THE DRINKS (lemon tea, coffee, milktea...etc) ARE UNLIMITED REFILL!!!!!

WOW, I LOVE LA!!!!

Fight to LA delayed and here is how I kill time

Add VideoIt was my last min decision to go to LA last week. The AA flight in JFK was delayed for 1 hour. They said the flight had some mechanical problem, and I said you can take whatever the time you need as long as I don't have to go down with it.
Even though travel with airplane is the safest transportation, but still I can't imagine if something happen when I was 36k miles high from the ground.
So I took out my camera and kill times.

The Goldman Sach Dragon Boat Team 2009

This morning Simmi send me two PDF file which are from the Goldman Sachs (GS) site. One is for the U.S. Internal, and the other one for the GS worldwide. I am honored to see they used the photos I did for their GS Dragon Boat Team in this year's Dragon Boat festival in Flushing, NY.

Sweet!

I specially love the photo which was shot when the GS team crossed the finish line. I had 3 frames captured the moment, but this one really had their energy and emotion out.

Is this a good photo? Well, compare to a lot of finish line crossing photos from the sport photographers or Sports Illustrated, this photo sucks.

But I like it, because my wife was there, and she was the pacer too, Period.

There was n0 doubt I have my personal feelings attached during this assignment. Well, technically, it was an unpaid, must do, better good shots or die assignment directly ordered from Simmi.
